CPES works with parents to teach

Consolidated Parochial Elementary School (C. P. E. S) believes that parents are a child’s first and best teacher and that it is the school’s job to reinforce the lessons you teach at home.

Catholic schools bring a faith-filled perspective to a rigorous academic curriculum. In an increasingly secular society, a Catholic education, integrated into a child’s 35 hour per week school experience, can keep home, school and parish together. The school believes that the small class size, personalized instructions and caring teachers accelerates the students’ learning.

C. P. E. S. has recently made changes to provide enhanced opportunities for the Middle School children. They have become sister schools with Divine Savior of New Holstein. Grades six to eight will now be held at Divine Savior in a middle school environment. This will allow for more academic, social and athletic opportunities for the children. Staffs from both schools have been working closely with each other on getting the children to become familiar with each other through group field trips, dances and pen pals.

C. P. E. S. will hold its pre-kindergarten to fifth grade in the St. John building in Johnsburg. The school felt it was important to keep the younger grades close to home for families. They offer an after school care program making it convenient for working families to have a place close to home for their children to go. The after school program is run by qualified staff who supervise individual and group activities as well as assist students with homework.

The school has also made some major additions to technology. In the past year they have replaced the computers in the lab, added laptops for the staff and smart boards. They have also put wireless internet in the building providing teachers with more ways of communicating with parents through e-mail and online grading.

C. P. E. S. is currently accepting enrollment for the 2012-’13 school year. There are scholarships available through the school as well as the school parishes. Please contact the school and they can help answer any questions people have and distribute any additional information needed. Call the school office at 795-4222.
