“Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” a six-week educational series designed to provide family caregivers with the tools needed to do self-care as well as care for a loved one, is sponsored by the Aging & Disability Resource Center and University of Wisconsin-Extension Sheboygan County/Family Living.
This program is scheduled to be held at Countryside Manor-West on Thursdays from 5 to 7:30 p. m. on Sept. 13, 20, Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25. A hot meal will be provided at each workshop, compliments of Countryside Manor-West.
“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The cost of the “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” handbook is $25. Scholarships are available and respite for the care recipient may be provided at no cost to the caregiver if needed.
